About That Pesky “100”!
Hello Everyone Visiting,
Thanks for your visit, and perhaps you’re here wondering who this is who followed you? Some of you have offered to follow anyone who follows them. Maybe you’re just browsing and reading. In any case, this being December, I’m working on getting that magic number in order to qualify to stay in the Medium writing game.
We all have a reason to be writing and I’ve read many interesting stories relating to that. Whatever your reason, for most it usually doesn’t have much to do with accumulating “followers” just to have followers. Most writers want to attract and accumulate those who might be interested in what they’re writing and in the same general interest fields.
Some are in it for the money, but I can see that it might be awhile before Medium is actually an “income” producer. That might be nice, but its not my first motivation. For me I like the environment they’ve created and the various ways they’ve made writing fun and easy. Well, that doesn’t remove the tedium of editing or working on getting the expressions “right” according to your sense of communication, but it is rewarding.
At the bottom of the push for 100 followers there are some golden threads. Mostly its about community and friendliness because for sure I’m reading a lot more now than when I started. So many different ideas are being presented and many creative presentations exist here. There’s a great benefit in getting acquainted with more writers outside of my main interest areas.
Over the years I’ve written mostly for my self — note taking, classes, and occasionally projects involving studies in one or more fields of interest. Along the way there are interesting things that have happened in life and I hope to express some of those as stories in the near future too.
Mostly I started into this because some of my favorite subjects have been overflowing with new and important information that I’m understanding now so much deeper than ever before, and they beg to be shared. Since I have several main interest areas, there’s usually a conflict on the priority list! Which topic to write about next, and where to start when several seem to be equally fascinating or important!
